
PARAMARIBO - King Willem-Alexander Queen Máxima are currently in Suriname for a 3-day state visit. Due to this state visit from the Dutch royal couple, a ban on drones is in effect for 3 days.

Neither reporters bor private citizens are allowed to use drones to record this event in the areas where the royal couple are present. Workers from media houses and visitors are being asked to stick to the ban on drones and to also follow the instructions of the organization to the letter. This state visit is billed as one that will highlight the cooperation between Suriname and the Netherlands and the close ties that still exist between both countries, and one that will “focus on our collaboration, exchanges, and future partnerships in numerous areas,” according to the Dutch Royal Court.
This is King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima’s first State Visit to Suriname. On Suriname’s Independence Day, November 25th, the Dutch King paid a visit to the Suriname Museum in Amsterdam to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Surinamese independence and to officially open the new historical and cultural space.
