which started on August 15th. Reports indicate that the moped rider sustained serious injuries and died at the scene of the accident before the police arrived. The Santo Boma Police Station has launched an investigation into this deadly traffic accident. On Sunday afternoon the Academic Hospital Paramaribo (AZP) notified the police that a road victim had been rushed to its Emergency Room. Reports indicate that the victim was a pedestrian who was run over by a car along the Fredrikshoopweg in Santodorp. The pedestrian died shortly afterwards. This means that there have already been two road deaths in the Traffic Safety Month. From August 15th until September 15th cyclists, moped riders and drivers will be reminded to refrain from driving recklessly and to also refrain from exceeding the speed limit.
