PARAMARIBO – Two security guards were recently arrested for their alleged involvement in the burglary that took place at the Central Bureau for Civic Affairs (CBB) which is located in the Mr. J. Lachmonstraat. On April 11 four masked gunmen broke into the CBB and eventually made off with a laptop,

passports, passport requests and other stuff. The police arrested two security guards namely 28-year-old AN and 34-year-old AM because the security footage shows the four burglars approach-ing the guards before breaking into the building. Two of the burglars were also armed with a crowbar. The police officers that was stationed outside the building did not notice anything out of the ordinary because they were on the west side of the building and could not see the section of the building where the burglars were active. The special police is tasked with securing objects that will be used for the elections and on Election Day.
The police urges people with information about the burglary and/ or the burglars to call 179 or to dial 404230 or 402736. All of the people who provide tips will remain anonymous and might even receive a reward.
