(NPS) saved this party on Election Day, May 25th. “Four candidates in particular reeled in thousands of votes for the party, thereby securing the political future of the NPS. Mielando Atompai, Diana Pokie, Raoul Hellings and Jerrel Pawiroredjo played an important role in this development,” said Ramadhin. The preliminary results indicate that Atompai reeled in 6,530 stemmen, Pokie 2,504, Hellings 1,837 and Pawiroredjo 2,789. Collectively these candidates reeled in 13,660 votes for the NPS. They not only proved that they are popular but that there is also still potential within the NPS for growth and renewal. Without these 4 candidates the position of the NPS would have been weakened further. The leader of the party will have to acknowledge that this group of politicians represent a new chapter and that their statistical performance on Election Day must serve as a wake up call for the party officials who want to stick to the traditional politics.
