East Coast Demerara (ECD) and stealing a digital scale valued $20,000. The incident reportedly occurred around 02:00h while the family of five was asleep in their home.

A member of the family, identified only as Mia, told Kaieteur News that on the day in question, it was observed that the bandit jumped into the neighbour’s yard since their fence was lower before proceeding to her yard. The 32-year-old woman shared that the bandit has a habit of breaking into residents’ homes in his underwear stealing valuables in sight. “Persons called and said this man did the same thing to them,” Mia told Kaieteur News.

According to CCTV footage seen by this publication, the suspect was seen tip toeing around the victim’s compound in search of valuables. While doing so he saw the digital scale and picked it up. The suspect was then seen tiptoeing with the stolen item before jumping over the fence into the neighbor’s yard, where he initially entered, and then made good his escape.
