GUYANA - The Ministry of Home Affairs has announced the appointment of a seasoned Canadian investigator to assist with the ongoing probe into the death of Adriana Younge.
The move is in line with a commitment made by President Dr Irfaan Ali to ensure a thorough and transparent investigation.
In a statement released on Thursday morning, the Ministry confirmed that Mr Leonard Mc Coshen, a distinguished retired officer of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), has been engaged by the Government of Guyana. Mr Mc Coshen is a trained and certified expert in homicide and suspicious death investigations.
With over three decades of experience, Mr Mc Coshen has dedicated 20 years of his career to the RCMP’s Serious Crimes Branch within the Major Crimes Unit. During this time, he was responsible for investigating complex and sensitive cases, primarily focusing on homicides and incidents where foul play was suspected.
Throughout his career, Mr Mc Coshen has successfully supervised and coordinated more than 200 investigations, including cases involving murder, kidnapping, and other serious offences. His extensive experience and credentials are expected to significantly contribute to uncovering the circumstances surrounding Ms Younge’s untimely death. The investigation remains ongoing.
