WANICA - The new regional police chief of Wanica, E. Macrooy, visited the office of District Commissioner Ravi Bhattoe last Friday to officially introduce himself. During the meeting several issues were discussed.

District Commissioner Ravi Bhattoe reportedly asked the regional chief to increase surveillance and to also increase the visibility of the bikers in the Wanica District. He evidently wants more police officers to be assigned to the Wanica District. Both officials emphasized the importance of direct communication and further strengthening the collaboration between the Police Force Suriname (KPS) and the District Commissioners' Office. The DC reportedly wants information regarding PL bus drivers who violates traffic rules to be shared with him so that the information could also be shared with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Tourism which will take the appropriate action.
