Diddy could be jailed for six to seven years, judge says at sentencing

US - Sean "Diddy" Combs is in court in New York where he will be sentenced on two counts of transportation for prostitution.

Times of Suriname

He was convicted of flying people across the US for sexual encounters he called "freak-offs", including his girlfriends and male sex workers. The judge says Combs could be jailed for six to seven years. The prosecution wants him to serve at least 11 years in prison, while Combs' lawyers have asked for 14-months. Combs is expected to address the judge before he is sentenced. One of his lawyers choked back tears as she spoke in court, while his adult children were visibly emotional as they begged the judge for leniency. Prosecutors say Combs would pose "a danger at any age" and argue a lighter sentence would let him get away with years of abuse. (BBC)
