A lone gunman attacked Callender while she was sitting in her car outside her home late last Saturday night. In a statement on Wednesday police aid her condition at the hospital has improved. “The condition of hospitalised Guyanese social media personality and breakout artiste Lolita Callendar, called ‘Lola Doll’, is said to be improving,” police said.

According to the police, investigators were able to interview Callender in relation to what transpired on the night. Additionally, with regard to the first suspect who was arrested following Callendar’s shooting, the 72-hour detention timeline has elapsed. As such, he was placed on $500,000 bail, as well as reporting conditions to the Police,” the statement read. On the other hand, Paul Daby Jr., also known as ‘Randell’, who a wanted bulletin was issued for remains in police custody, as investigations are ongoing.

Back in June, Daby was among six persons sanctioned by United States Department of the Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) for alleged drug trafficking. Days prior to the shooting of Lola Doll at East Ruimveldt home, she had claimed in a Facebook live that there might be a hit out for her. She even suggested a motive claiming that it might be connected to a back and forth (buse-out) she had with someone’s girlfriend. Police had identified the shooter as a lone gunman on a motorcycle and reported that the shooting took place around 23:35hrs. (Kaieteur News)
