The accused, Devyanie Ramsaroop, pleaded not guilty to the charge which was read by Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore. It is alleged that on July 25, 2025 at Georgetown Public Hospital, Ramsaroop stole a Samsung Galaxy cell phone property of Monique Wills. The accused, through her attorney, told the court that she is not a flight risk and has been cooperating with the police. The attorney noted that Ramsaroop has no criminal record and that she made a mistake. However, the prosecution told the court that Ramsaroop and Wills work together and on the day in question, Wills left her phone on her desk when it was stolen. The phone was tracked, located and found at Ramsaroop’s home. The matter was adjourned to August 20, 2025. (Kaieteur News)
