the brandrain that was mainly triggered by the low salaries. The nation’s hospital are therefore not operating at their full capacity. In order to address the issue the Ministry of Health, Wellbeing and Labor (VWA) is urging retired nurses who are currently sitting at home to temporarily return to active duty. These retirees can visit the ministry’s Inspection Department from December 1st until December 5th. According to the Health Ministry, these nurses can come out of retirement to lend a helping hand in order to guarantee the quality and continuation of the nation’s healthcare services. The retired nurses have the necessary experience and skills that are needed to support the healthcare teams and to train new recruits. The Health Ministry made it clear that it is looking for retired nurses with a HBO and MBO degree. It hopes that these reinforcements will help relieve the pressure on the workforce in the healthcare sector.
