PARAMARIBO - Kinderhuis Ramoth which is located in the Henck Arronstraat 172 provides shelter to children in need but is currently also in need of help. It reportedly wants to carry out an important project aimed at renovating all of the bedrooms and bathrooms but lacks the funds.
Major Marsha Samedi told Times of Suriname that there are currently 28 children at the children's home and that this number will rise to 30 at the start of the new school year. “About 10 rooms of which the bathrooms, closets and ceilings are in a pretty bad shape and urgently require renovation,” said Samedi. The plan is to carry out the renovations in the summer vacation when the children go to their homes.When the children come back to the children's home in September, they will be able to reside in a safe and comfortable building. Samedi explained that the support from the community is needed for the children’s home that was built about half a century ago. Kinderhuis Ramoth urges people to make a donation. People can choose to donate money or building materials. Donations can be made until July 31st at the children's home. Money can be wired to the bank accounts of the children's home. Kinderhuis Ramoth has two bank accounts at the DSB Bank namely DSB SRD: 1195433 and DSB EURO: 11233273.
