The Police Force Suriname made it clear that theft and all other crimes can never be justified but that taking the law into your own hands is punishable by law and can therefore have serious consequences. “The police never condones this. When citizens cross the line, they could also be arrested and detained,” said the Police Force Suriname in a press release. The Police Force Suriname made it clear that after citizens have caught a suspect, they must notify the police immediately and hand the suspect over to the police. “Do not let your emotions get the best of you,” the Police Force Suriname.
