Georgetown Substation on Mandela Ave. between May 15 and 17, 2025 was placed on $150,000 bail. Seon Carmichael of Lot 205 Land of Canaan, East Bank Demerara (EBD), was charged with facilitating a terrorist act. Carmichael was initially denied bail when he made his first court appearance at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court. Last week, Carmichael appeared virtually before Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore where a second bail application was made by his attorney Mikel Puran. That application was also denied.
However, on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, the accused through his attorney, approached the High Court seeking bail. The matter was heard before Justice Damone Younge who granted bail on condition that Carmichael lodges his passport and reports to the Grove Police Station, every first Monday of each month. The case was adjourned to July 9, 2025. (Kaieteur News)
