PARAMARIBO - Milk Central Paramaribo (MCP) has decided to give a special discount to people with a Moni Karta in celebration of its 65th anniversary.

The director of the M P, Monché Atompai, explained that people with a ‘Moni Karta’ can buy one liter of milk for SRD 25. One liter of milk currently costs SRD 37.50 in the retail stores. The introduction of the discount went into effect last Monday. The MCP will give this special discount to people with a Moni Karta until April 15th. The director explained that the MCP is giving this discount to help out “the most vulnerable groups in our society.” It is estimated that between one hundred and fifty thousand and two hundred thousand citizens will benefit from this discount. The director emphasized that people with a Moni Karta must also show a valid ID card when they want to buy milk at a discount. He warned that milk will not be sold at a discount to people whose Moni Karta has already expired.
The people with a Moni Karta can only buy milk at a discount at the store of the MCP which is located at its factory in the Van Idsingastraat. The discount will be given for 65 days. The MCP which was founded on April 15th, 1961 plays a crucial role as it supplies the nation with dairy products of good quality and at an affordable price.
