does not return as their director. They also want the director of administrative affairs, Ritshik Adelaar, to stay. A staff member confirmed the demand of the workers and explained that the strike was triggered by the news that Atompai had to hand in his letter of resignation. “We can’t just let him go. The director must stay,” said a staff member who added that Atompai had worked hard to stabilize and further develop the company. “The collaboration with him was perfect. His work method was aimed at bringing the MCP to a higher level.” The workers mentioned various positive developments within the company such as the discount on milk for people with a Moni Karta. One of the workers explained that Atompai took strategic steps in a company that has suffered huge financial losses. “He thought of the future.” The workers are still flabbergasted by the departure of the director. They pointed out that he was pressured into leaving and that they would not resume working until it becomes clear that the director and deputy director will be reinstated.
“We want the director and the deputy director to stay. That is our demand.”
