who had sustained serious injuries in a traffic accident had to be transported to the Academic Hospital Paramaribo (AZP). The patient was reportedly taken from the Nickerie District to the AZP in Paramaribo by helicopter. The Ministry of Defense announced that the medical evacuation was successful and that the patient arrived safely at the AZP in the military chopper. The operation which was carried out at night proved that the Air Force has the expertise to handle medical emergencies.
