members of parliament (MPs) must not receive compensation at the end of every month because “they have not suffered any damages.” “The laws must be amended and they must clearly state that each legislator must be paid for each session that they attend. This payment system will effectively solve the lack of quorum,” said Ozir who deems it unacceptable that legislators do not attend sessions but still get paid at the end of the month. “The average citizen does not get paid if he or she fails to show up for work for one day. Several of the current MPs had made it clear that the salaries of legislators were too high and that they had to be lowered but those same legislators currently claim that it is easier said than done. I hope that the law is amended and that legislators no longer get compensation but only their salary. The money that earn is too high because they also receive other privileges that citizens who work even harder do not get.”
