but that the delay in the payment of her salary is making her feel discouraged. “I am thinking about leaving this profession because I can't keep working without receiving my money. I have bills to pay every month and I also have to put food on the table for my children. How long must I wait for my money? I can't keep borrowing money from my parents to make ends meet. When I was hired they told me that I would start receiving my money after three months but it has already been over five months. I can't believe that I have to wait so many months for my salary,” said
Whitney added that this situation has forced her to find a second job in order to pay the bills. She deems it awful that teachers receive very little to zero recognition, even though they play a crucial role. “We do not get a proper salary, and we also have to wait many months for our meager salary. I hope that I, and all the other part-time teachers who work at tech schools and who still have not received any money will get paid at the end of February.”
