Court to answer to several charges. The defendants, 76-year-old Samuel Greene of Lot 9 Samaroo Dam, West Bank Demerara (WBD) and 32-year-old Shondai Ramlochan, of Lot 76 William Street, Kitty, Georgetown, appeared before Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore who read the charges.
It is alleged that on April 2, 2025 on Camp Street, Georgetown, Greene allegedly assaulted Ramlochan causing her actual bodily harm. It is also alleged that he used abusive, threatening language and provoked Ramlochan on the same day at the said address. Meanwhile, Ramlochan was also charged for allegedly assaulting Greene and provoking him on April 2, 2025 on Camp Street, Georgetown. They both pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Greene had legal representation who requested bail on his behalf and informed the court that he had no prior matters pending. Meanwhile, Ramlochan appeared unrepresented. Magistrate Azore released Greene on $15,000 bail for the assault causing actual bodily harm charge and $10,000 bail for the other three charges; totaling $45,000 bail. Ramlochan was granted $15,000 bail for assault causing actual bodily harm, and $10,000 bail for the other charge totaling $25,000 bail. They are expected to return to court on May 27, 2025.
