GUYANA - The People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C) is in the lead with votes from the General and Regional Elections 2025, according to the tabulated numbers released by the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM).
On Wednesday, GECOM posted the tabulated voted by region to its Facebook page. In Region One, A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) scraped a meager 469 votes, the Alliance For Change (AFC) managed 35 votes, Forward Guyana Movement (FGM) accumulated 75 votes, the PPP/C 9030 and newcomer, We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) 5716. In Region Two, APNU took 1,835, AFC 91, FGM 147, PPP, 1784 and WIN 7400. Region Three saw APNU with 8992, AFC with 322, the Assembly for Liberty Party (ALP) taking 138, FEGM 522, PPP 48055 and WIN 12969.
Over in Region Four, APNU took 46956, AFC got 1765, ALP 497, FGM 2431, PPP 87536 and WIN 41607. Region Five saw APNU taking 6480, AFC 208, ALP 58, FGM 128, PPP 18432 and WIN 5816. Moving on to Region Six, APNU secured 6223, AFC 315, ALP 132, FGM 361, PPP 41320 and WIN 12623. Region Seven saw APNU receiving 983, ALP 415, AFC 59, PPP 3577 and WIN 5098. Headed to the interior, in Region Eight, APNU received 76, AFC57, PPP 2872 and WIN 2562. In Region Nine, APNU got 450, AFC 192, PPP 9938 and WIN 4817. In the region that is home to the mining town of Linden, Region 10 APNU got 5334, AFC 210, ALP 85, FGM 662, PPP4260 and WIN 10458.
In total, the PPP received 242,498 votes, WIN received 109,066, APNU 77, 998, AFC 3610, ALP 969 and FGM 4326. The PPP managed to secure eight out of the 10 regions of Guyana with newcomer WIN close on its heels in most of them. Region 10 normally an APNU stronghold was won by WIN. Unfortunately for the largest opposition party, their support appeared to have declined drastically as not only did they not secure any region but the number of votes have significantly declined from 2020.
