“As  president I seized the opportunity to express Suriname's appreciation regarding the excellent relations between our countries which is based on mutual trust and mutual benefit,” said Simons who added that China currently is and will always remain an important partner to Suriname. Both countries collaborate in various sectors including infrastructure, healthcare, education and agriculture. There are also ambitious plans regarding renewable energy, digital transformation, climate measures, technical assistance and investments in infrastructure and productive sectors.  “These joint efforts show that   Suriname and China are determined to maintain a strong and sustainable relationship,” said President Simons.
