tried to flee the scene so the police officers had no other choice than to use their guns to compel the suspects to surrender. One of the suspects was shot in the back before being arrested while his two accomplices managed to escape in the forest. The three suspects were allegedly involved in a violent home invasion and robbery in a house located in the Eshanhoesen Abdoelrahmanstraat. The owner of the private residence reportedlly lost consciousness as a result of the aggravated assault. He was rushed to the Emergency Room of the Academic Hospital Paramaribo (AZP). The robbers took a wallet that contained an unspecified amount of American dollars, personal items and a smartphone before fleeing the scene in the victim’s car. The police are currently trying to track down the other two suspects.
