The OBBS also announced a deadline. The government has until Friday to pay its members for services rendered in the past couple of months. The people who are tasked with transporting students and teachers to schools made it clear that the decision to opt for a strike was not easy. “We are in fact aware of the impact that it will have on students, parents and teachers in the education field,” said the OBBS. The organization explained that it is not out to disrupt the education process but that it wants to compel the government to keep its word and to treat its members fairly. The bus and boat owners pointed out that they have been patient for a long time but that the situation has become unbearable. Many members of this union have serious financial problems while they also have to pay the monthly bills and pay off their debts.
