of 28-year-old D.M., 25-year-old G.G. and a 3-year-old boy. Four people are still missing namely two adults and two minors. Five people survived the boat mishap. 42-year-old R.P., 18-year-old T.I., 20-year-old L.A., 65-year-old E.A. and 46-year-old M.M. were rescued by other people. The police report indicates that twelve people including the 42-year-old boat owner, R.P., got on the boat after a funeral service which they had attended in the Amerindian village of Bamboesi. All of the people who got on the boat were from neighboring French Guiana and were on their way to the French Guyanese village called Paddock. But when the aluminum boat had reached the middle of the river, it capsized and sank. The five survivors were taken to French Guyana for medical treatment. The police and the fire department are actively searching for the missing persons with assistance from local rescue services and the French authorities. The investigation into this boat mishap is ongoing.
