PARAMARIBO - A new board of directors and a new management team were recently appointed to Grassalco by the shareholders at a meeting that took place at the Ministry of Natural Resources.

The meeting of the shareholders was chaired by Natural Resources Minister David Abiamofo who acted on behalf of the government. Marlon Cotino has reportedly replaced Berto Sampi as the company’s head of the board of directors. Lindsey Sanné was appointed as director while Johan Seymor has officially replaced Natascha Kalo as the company’s chief executive officer. Natascha Kalo ran the company as acting CEO after Wesley Rozenhout had been suspended Berto Sampi was appointed as the operational director while Jerney Noordzee was appointed tedbas the company’s financial director. This means that for the first time ever Grassalco will have multiple executives. Minister Abiamofo applauded the expansion of the management team and emphasized that Grassalco is ambitious and wants to keep growing. CEI Johan Seymor has worked in the mining sector for 17 years. Financial Director Jerney Noordzee held multiple positions within the Finance Department of Surpost for over 20 years. Minister Abiamofo strongly believes that the members of the new board of directors and the new management team have the necessary experience that is needed to get the job done at the state mining company.
