Somohardjo challenges Ramadhin to million dollar bet

The chairman of Pertjajah Luhur (PL), Paul Somohardjo, recently challenged political analyst Hardeo Ramadhin to a bet. The winner will get up to USD 1 million.

Times of Suriname

Somohardjo told Times of Suriname that he is convinced that the PL party will take in more than 2 parliamentary seats at the next elections. “The PL will conquer at least 4 seats. Ramadhin should put his money where his mouth is, if he is certain that the PL will only get 2 seats,” said  Somohardjo who initially wanted to invest a small sum of money in the bet namely USD 100 but later indicated that he was willing to go as high as USD 1 million.

Ramadhin told Times of Suriname that he was willing to accept the challenge for SRD 5,000. “I am poor. I do not have USD 1 million,” said Ramadhan who added that the PL must take in at least 4 seats to win the bet. The political analyst kept insisting that the PL will only haul in 2 seats at the next elections. “The PL has lost its strength since parting ways with the ABOP. He hardly has any Javanese people left to support him.”
