During an interview with Kaieteur News on Monday, the caretaker of the apartment building at Lot 108 Barima Avenue, said many residents in the Bel Air community have been frequently complaining about their cars being broken into.

According to CCTV footage seen by this publication, the suspect was observed approaching the vehicle, then looking into the back window with a flashlight. He then pointed the light into the windscreen of the vehicle, in search of valuables.

He later scanned the area, ensuring no one was around to witness his crime. The man then broke the right rear window, pushed his hands in and opened the vehicle.

He went into the car, took out the haversack which contained the money and made good his escape. (Kaieteur News)
