a 43-year-old moped rider was arrested after being released from the hospital. D.R. reportedly ran the moped rider over when he tried to overtake another vehicle by driving on the other side of the road. The 43-year-old moped rider died at the scene of the accident. The 19-year-old driver fled the scene after the deadly accident and eventually showed up at a police station with his parents. Several police officers then went to the suspect’s house to take a look at his car and were shocked to find the right arm of the victim in the vehicle. The entire car was covered in blood and the right front side and the wind shield were damaged. The teen suspect evidently does not have a Surinamese driver’s license. The police impounded the car and the moped. The victim’s body was taken to the Coroner’s Office for an autopsy. The suspect who had sustained several injuries in the accident was taken to the hospital. After he was released from the hospital, he was taken into police custody. The investigation is ongoing.
