Hoopweg in Latour before assaulting him and taking him with them against his will. The victim's mother who reported the kidnapping at the Latour Police Station was aware that her son often took other people’s belongings and that he had recently returned to the city. The suspects were intercepted at the checkpoint located at Klaaskreek. While the police officers were busy checking the papers of the drivers, they suddenly heard somebody screaming in the car so they decided to investigate. They spotted P.J. who was sitting in the back seat behind the driver. The suspects claimed that P.J. had stolen their gold and that they wanted to take him to the Brokopondo Police Station to press charges. The vehicle was impounded and the suspects were arrested. K.L., L.G. and M.K. are currently in jail awaiting trial. The investigation is ongoing.
