Borger Breeveld became widely popular because of his performance as Roy in the movie ‘Wan Pipel’ (1976). Wan Pipel is widely recognized as a popular classic movie. He and Arie Verkuijl and Pim de la Parra founded the Film Institute Paramaribo (FIP). Breeveld was also secretary at Stichting Surinaamse Film Academie. At the STVS Breeveld was in charge of M’manten Taki which is a program where actual issues are highlighted and discussed. President Jennifer Simons pointed out in her Facebook profile that Breeveld had made his mark nationwide and worldwide with his achievements as actor, filmmaker and media man. Breeveld’s father was a preacher. His daughter, Manoushka Zeegelaar-Breeveld, is an actress. In July 2017 Breeveld had the role of Griffith in the movie ‘Sing Song’. In 2019 he received the TrackDrip Achievement Award. In 2023 he was honored for a whole month in the Icons calendar of NAKS. Breeveld passed away in the Netherlands on August 10th, 2026.
