PARAMARIBO – The family of 4-year-old Za’nyah Prijor is urging the nation to lend a helping hand so that the girl who is currently battling a leukemia relapse can get the medical treatment that she urgently needs.

Acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) is a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow — the spongy tissue inside bones where blood cells are made. Za’nyah is scheduled to leave for the Netherlands within two weeks so that they can get the treatment she needs to battle the ALL relapse. Doctors explained that in order to increase her chances of survival Za’nyah requires medical treatment in the Netherlands stat. The plan is to get Za’nyah admitted to the Prinses Máxima Centrum where she will receive the required medical treatment. Her mother must accompany her to the Netherlands where she will stay by her side. It is expected that the treatment will last between six to twelve months. The girl’s family must pay for her passport, the plane tickets and sleeping accommodations. The daily expenses are estimated to be about 30 Euros per day. This means that in order to cover the daily expenses for 6 months the family needs 5,580 Euros and for a period of 12 months 11,160 Euros. The family launched a donation drive so that it can have the money to pay all of the expenses. Donations can be wired to Sara Swedo’s SRD bank account at Finabank namely
1001099627 or her EURO account namely 1001099643. People who want to lend a helping hand financially can contact the mother of Za’nyah at +597 710-0274.
