after a fibre-optic cable that is located in the vicinity of the Dr Jules Sedney Harbor had been cut by vandals. Corporate Communication Manager Jennis Asraf explained that the telecom provider has repeatedly been targeted by vandals since July 1st. She pointed out that “this is the 6th time that fibre-optic cables have been cut this month.” As a result of the recent act of vandalism about one thousand clients of Telesur did not have access to the company’s network. In the past couple of weeks fibre-optic cables were either destroyed or cut at multiple locations. Telesur pointed out that these acts of vandalism cause huge financial losses.
