PARAMARIBO – Residents from Latour recently made it clear that they are fed up with the persisting nuisances in their neighborhood.

They complained about loud music, vehicles that are parked alongside and on the public road, pollution and other disruptive behavior increasingly annoying the residents. The residents pointed out that the line is often being crossed in their residential area. According to the residents, people often play loud music late at night and early in the morning. While the revelers have fun and enjoy their loud music, the residents are having sleepless nights and a lot of frustration. The residents are puzzled by the fact that the people who produce the noise pollution fail to realize that others need their good night’s rest because they have to get up early the next day to go to work. They also complained that people do park their vehicles in neat rows and therefore hamper traffic especially in narrow streets. The revelers also litter the streets and do not clean up their mess. “Everybody is entitled to have fun but nobody has the right to disturb an entire neighborhood”, said the residents who urged their neighbors to keep the music down. The residents urge the authorities not to wait until things get out of hand before taking action.
