Stolkertsijver in the Commewijne District last Thursday. Reports indicate that the man, who was identified as V.B., had a large sum of euros in his possession. The suspect was handed over to the Fraud Division of the Police Force Suriname (KPS). He is suspected of having broken several laws including the law on foreign currency, smuggling, money laundering and economic crimes. The money was seized and handed over to the Fraud Division, before being deposited in the vault of the Central Bank of Suriname. The investigation is ongoing.
