PARAMARIBO - The police recently expressed grave concern over the new challenge that is popular among the nation’s youths namely...

the “Guess Who Slapped Me’ game. Youths who are blindfolded are slapped by their peers and must guess who slapped them. The police asked parents and guardians to keep an eye on everything they children do in the summer vacation. According to the police, many youths are home alone during the day as their parents are at work. This raises several questions such as who is keeping an eye on the children and checking what they are doing. What is keeping our children busy? Reports indicate that a growing number of youths are starting to play this game. The Youth Information Division of the Police Force Suriname (KPS) has put together a poster to raise awareness among youths about the dangers of such challenges. The police urged parents to talk to their children about the risks of these online challenges and to steer clear of them as they could result in injuries or unwanted behaviour.
