was remanded last Monday. The 21-year-old security guard of Lot 200 West Ruimveldt, Georgetown, stole $13.1 million dollars, property of Sylvia Thom-as. Nicholas was slapped with simple larceny and two counts of discarding a firearm with intent, when he appeared at the Sparendaam Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Abigale Gibbs.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges which alleged that on June 22, 2025 at Fantasy Gaming Lounge, Giftland Mall, Turkeyen, East Coast Demerara (ECD), he discharged a loaded firearm at Cassie Benjimin and Raywat Sankar with intent to harm or disfigure them. It is also alleged that on the same day at the same address, Nicholas stole one 9mm pistol #BFVU468 valued $450,000, 17 matching ammunition valued $3,230 total valued $453,230, property of Castle Security Service.
The accused was represented by attorney Bernard Da Silva. The matter was adjourned to August 19, 2025. Nicholas who was wanted was seen standing at the entrance of KK Villa when the police arrived at approximately 19:00 hrs. He was arrested and a search was done on his person, a cell phone and $20,950 cash were found. “The wanted man then took the ranks to a room at KK Villa, Room 9, where a search was conducted, and the security firearm (Glock 19) that he was working with at the time of the robbery was found in a black haversack,” police said. Additionally, the firearm’s magazine contained 15 live matching rounds of ammunition. Also, a passport and a copy of the se-curity firearm license for the said firearm were found in Nicholas’ haversack. (Kaieteur News)
