which is why the government not only wants to deploy the Health Ministry but also medical institutes, social organizations and the media. When the new school year starts in October a large scale STD information campaign will be launched at schools nationwide. The Health Ministry has already trained the people who will be deployed at the nation’s schools to inform the youths about the dangers of unsafe sex. “The campaign is not only aimed at informing the youths about the risks of STDs but also at making them more aware of prevention and responsible behavior. Minister Misiekaba urged doctors, the Dermatological Service, the Public Health Bureau (BOG), Regionale Gezondheidsdienst (RGD) and media houses to lend a helping hand to the campaign. He explained that the drastic rise in the number of STDs is cause for concern. Minister Misiekaba acknowlegded that institutes such as the Dermatological Service have limited funds and tools but made it clear that “this is not a reason not to take preventative action.”
