Arson attack on Jewish charity ambulances being investigated

LONDON - Counter-terrorism police are leading the investigation into an arson attack on four ambulances belonging to a Jewish community charity in north London.

Police say it has not been declared a terrorist incident "at this stage" - they are also looking into claims of responsibility made by a group online. Prime Minister Keir Starmer earlier called it a "horrific antisemitic attack", adding: "It's really important that we all stand together at a moment like this". Health Secretary Wes Streeting says replacement ambulances will be loaned to the Hatzola charity, and the government will fund permanent replacements. London Fire Brigade were called to Highfield Road in Golders Green at around 01:40 GMT, and said multiple cylinders in the vehicles exploded, causing windows to break in nearby flats. (BBC)
