NICKERIE - The Mungra Medical Center.(MMC) is currently carrying out an eye mission in the Nickerie District.

The eye mission which is being carried out in association with the Eye Center of the Academic Hospital Paramaribo (AZP) started on April 7th and will be concluded on April 11th. The surgeries are free of charge as they are being financed by the insurance companies. Patients are only required to contribute SRD 2,000 to help cover logistical costs such as transportation for the team that travelled from Paramaribo to Nickerie. This means that the patients do not have to spend a lot of money to go to Paramaribo for the eye surgery. The hospital officials who have already selected the patients aimed at getting as many patients as possible on the list.
