He explained that a special commission which has already been put together will focus on the rehabilitation and renovation of the schools. The special commission will start working soon. “The situation is bad nationwide,” said Minister Tsang who added that the school buildings will be repaired and that the infrastructure surrounding the schools will also be improved to make the areas surrounding the schools safe and to make the schools easily accessible to traffic while also cleaning the drainage systems to prevent flooding near schools. The project will be carried out in close collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the Finance & Planning Ministry, the Agriculture Ministry, the Ministry of Regional Development and the Office of the President. Minister Tsang explained that schools, hospitals and other public facilities will be given priority.
