PARANAM - Unknown assailants who were hiding in the forest opened fire at a pickup truck that was driving near Peling Pasi last Saturday morning.

There are reportedly several bullet holes on the right side of the vehicle and in the windshield at the front. The 37-year-old driver, ZJ, drove to the Paranam Police Station to report the attack. Reports indicate that the driver remained unharmed but that he complained about feeling pain on the left side of his face. The police impounded the vehicle and Police officers from the Forensics Division went to the location to look for clues. The case will be handed over to he Brokopondo Police Station because the shooting took place in its jurisdiction.
